Childrens High Street Safari

The Sevenoaks Christmas High Street Safari proved to be the most popular yet with youngsters. Together with parents, it is calculated that 264 people took part in hunting for “The Lost Toys”, visiting 10 of the town centre businesses, looking for clues and downloading fun AR characters for novel selfies.

The event was sponsored by the Sencio Community Centre which donated a prize to a family picked at random from those which completed the trail. The businesses taking part also included Crop Hairdressers, BIGS Dessert Parlour, Paperchase, Especially Health, Demelza, Francis Jones, Eat for Energy , Feather Lane and The Chocolate Shop.

In the picture, Becky Geis is presented with a six-month family swimming membership by Katie Lord of Sencio and Andrew Eyre, Chairman of Sevenoaks Town Team.

The High Street Safaris are organised by Sevenoaks Town Team to encourage families to visit shops and businesses that might be new to them, while also having great “family time” together. It also helps youngsters hone their IT skills!

“This is what the Town Team is all about” explained Andrew Eyre, “we work to support Sevenoaks businesses and where possible to add to the activities of the town to make it an even more enjoyable place to be. If anyone has suggestions for similar projects, please contact townteam@sevenoakstown.gov.uk.”
